In the weeks leading up to the 2017 Bloomsburg Mini Maker Faire, we will be profiling the Makers that are appearing at the Faire!

New this year!

Stirling Engines

The Stirling engine is a heat engine invented by Robert Stirling in 1816. The Stirling engine is very different and much more efficient than a gas or diesel combustion engine. The Stirling Engine uses the properties of gasses. Gasses expand when heated and contract when cooled. If the gas is in a fixed volume, pressure will build up when heated and decrease when cooled. This change in pressure will move a piston to drive the motor.
