In the weeks leading up to the 2017 Bloomsburg Mini Maker Faire, we will be profiling the Makers that are appearing at the Faire!

New this year! – Cardboard Engineering!

All building materials have constraints that dictate how the material can be used. In this exhibit, Maker Bill Bien will demonstrate how to construct projects out of cardboard. Visitors will be able to control the operation of a model of an industrial crane that is built out of ordinary recyclable cardboard (plus a couple motors, switches and other hardware). Pressing buttons on a cardboard control panel, the operator will be able to move the boom and raise or lower an electromagnet which will be set up to move metal parts from one location to another!

This year’s Bloomsburg Mini Maker Faire will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10am-4pm on the grounds of the Children’s Museum right in the heart of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.

Admission to this all-day event is FREE. There will be a large variety of Making activities, workshops, presentations, performances, crafters and the Museum’s 50+ exhibits.
